Siren Marine Hires Dr. Stephen Marshall to Fill New CMO Role

November 05, 2018

Siren Marine has expanded its robust leadership team with the addition of Stephen Marshall, Ph.D. to fill the newly-established role of Chief Marketing Officer.

Dr. Marshall’s expertise and work experience speak volumes when it comes to his qualifications for this challenging position. He is currently Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Media and Communications at East Tennessee State University, and boasts years of high-level digital marketing experience with world-leading companies such as Adobe, Nielsen Media Research, Coca Cola and others. Customer experience is Dr. Marshall’s particular area of work and teaching emphasis, skills he will rely on as he strives to keep Siren Marine at the forefront of the rapidly-evolving field of Internet of Things (IoT) technology for the marine industry.

“Siren Marine was already laser focused on excellent customer experiences for both its B2B and B2C clients,” said Dr. Marshall. “Every aspect of Siren’s connected boat technology has been engineered to deliver a superior experience, whether the customer is a boat manufacturer, fleet operator or a family out to enjoy a day on the water. With aggressive growth opportunities on the horizon for this marine IoT market leader, I’m excited to bring my customer experience expertise to Siren Marine and this amazing team,” added Dr. Marshall.

Siren Marine’s current Connected Boat line is anchored by the successful Siren MTC (Monitor|Track|Control) and advanced iOS and Android MTC mobile apps. This affordable, cellular-based system enhances the overall boating experience by ensuring owners that their vessel is always safe, secure and ready to enjoy. The MTC integrates with a network of proprietary wired and/or wireless sensors to keep mariners connected to their boats and provide a wealth of information such as geofence/location, battery monitoring, shore power status, bilge monitoring, unauthorized entry and more. It also provides the ability to remotely control lights, air conditioning, battery switches and other key systems using a smartphone, tablet or computer.

Siren’s recently launched SirenFleet Fleet Management Portal utilizes this proven technology in new ways to help fleet operators, boat clubs, and commercial fleets, providing a range of monitoring and control functions to improve their businesses efficiency and customer satisfaction.

“As our company grows, one of the most exciting parts is seeing the level of talent and expertise we are able to attract,” said Daniel Harper, Siren Marine founder and CEO. “Following the recent hire of Phil Gaynor, formerly of Navico and one of the most senior executives in marine telematics, we are thrilled to have Stephen take the helm of our marketing and digital departments. Stephen’s marketing and customer experience success with iconic companies like Coca Cola and Adobe will bring high-level, out-of-the-box thinking to our industry. Having this level of horsepower at the head of our marketing and digital strategy team compliments our best-in-class technology,” added Harper.
